One of the keys to happiness is to rest on time
Hi guys, I hope it’s going well for you and the cold weather is about to end very soon! Spring and happy times are coming!
To me one of the keys to happiness is to rest on time, not to leave it to the very last moment when tension becomes unbearable and to prevent it by being mindful about your own body and emotions. When you allow yourself to experience something you need, you gain nourishment from it and you are more likely to identify and attract more nourishing experiences as you move forward. If you feel that pampering yourself is something you feel uneasy about, try to think about it as an investment in your well-being, an investment that is going to pay dividends in respect to bringing you far more energy, power and ideas.

It is necessary not ‘to switch off’ but to actually ‘switch on’. It happens when we again, like children, are connected with our bodies. We become playful, ready to experiment and believe in ourselves. In our heads we create some space between our thoughts, worries and concerns. We reset, and we feel energised and motivated to solve any problems we have in our lives. We become “in tune” with ourselves.
How do I slow down that busy mind, you may wonder? I’ve got the answer for you, but it’s not a simple one. It happens with practice that is both regular and mindful. You’d be forgiven for maybe thinking that yoga is about bending yourself or standing on one leg, doing weird asanas (postures) or that it’s a kind of religion. It’s really about connecting to yourself and listening to yourself. It’s about learning to be comfortable with and learning to love yourself. It’s about being kind.

Mindfulness and Yoga
When we start to practice, from the very beginning we pay attention to breathing and mindfully relax each part of the body. From this process we get to learn and observe our own personal tensions and our states of mind. As you practice you will notice your different moods. These observations start with the body. Where does it lead? It leads to a point when you become consciously aware of complications, energy stagnation, moods, and physical discomfort well in advance before they become health problems, physically or mentally. You connect the body to the mind. You start to be aware when your thoughts and emotions slip into negativity and when your mood may cause harm to the self or others. This is what yoga is – a tool that will help you to feel well, feel whole. We all want to feel whole, to achieve certain things as part of our wants and needs – maybe certain job roles, to obtain wealth, love, etc… eventually we want to enjoy a beautiful life at peace with ourselves and others. Yoga practice can help with that.
The key is that no-one else except you is capable of doing it for you. Yoga instructors and psychologists can guide you and teach you how you can begin to find your own path and own rhythm, but they can’t create a beautiful life for you. It is your choice to leave it all to fate or to truly become a master of your own life.
